Michael Losch, born in 1968.
He gained a commercial sciences degree at WU-Vienna in cooperation with French partner universities (ESSCA, HEC).
Doctorate with his dissertation on competitive regulation of the e-economy.
1993-95 EU and energy expert at the Austrian Economic Chamber.
In 1996, he worked at the ING Bank’s International Project Finance Department.
In 1997, he moved to Brussels to work for the European Commission, Directorate-General for Energy, responsible for the implementation and further development of the EU electricity-market guidelines.
In 1999-2004 he was responsible for the economic policy and competition law-agenda, as a member of the cabinet of EU Commissioner Franz Fischler.
From April 2004 to August 2016, he was the head of department for economic policy, innovation and technology; Since September 2016 he is head of the department for energy and mining at the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economics.
